Nothing is Sweeter Than Readers' Theater

Today we performed our readers' theater skits.  Our practice building fluency and expression really paid off today, as we wowed the audience!  Check out all the fun!

Karate Kids

Today we were lucky enough to have an instructor from Karate America come to our class for a demonstration.  The presentation began with a discussion on focus, discipline, and self control, and the importance of these traits as students and individuals.  We reviewed the types of bullying and how we can look out for one another and become bully busters.  Students were then given the opportunity to throw a few punches and kicks at a punching bag.  Lines were eagerly formed and what was once a quiet classroom became a frenzy of limbs and HI-YAs, as students took their turn. The grand finale was truly incredible, as one of the instructors broke a board with her bare feet!  OW!!! The cries of amazement could be heard around the building!
